About

Hi! I am a 19 year old nursing student, among many other things. But seeing as I am paying for that title, I might as well use it. Here on this blog are bits and pieces of my life that I would like to share with you. Hopefully it will be good times had by all. Leave me a comment, or email me if you wanna chat! (see link below)
Enjoy.

Back to reality Saturday, February 23, 2008 |

Hey! Now that reading break is almost over, it's time to get back to the books. And blogging.
I'm currently working on a paper for my World Religions class. It's tricky. It's one of those papers where you can write about almost ANYTHING as long as it has a smidgen of something to do with something mildly religious, such as pork. You're beginning to see my dilemma. I have no idea what to write about. While I think I have decided on a topic, that may change in the next 13 minutes. My little sheltered life hasn't really motivated me to challenge the status quo, question my religion or beliefs, so I haven't got much ammo to write with. I think I need to read a book. A good one. A thinking one. I need to enrich myself. Any suggestions? Aunty Ruby, I know you read, and you must have some great ideas!!

In other news, I really like serving (waitressing). There's just something that feels good about walking out with over $100 in cash. Everyday is not awesome, but the good outweighs the bad. The bad: on Tuesday, I had a table that whined about every single thing I brought out: the milk shake wasn't shake-y enough, the chicken fingers weren't hot enough, the drink wasn't flavorful enough, blah blah BLAH....anyway I tried to be accomodating, and tried to be nice, and run across the restaurant 30,000 times to get them what they want...their bill came to $172.62.
They tipped me $2.38 cents. Grrr.

The good: On the holiday Monday, I made approximately $37 an hour! Cool beans. Why am I in nursing school??

Alissa, blogosphere. Blogosphere, Alissa. Wednesday, February 06, 2008 |

My best friend Alissa just started a blog! Aww, how cute! So young, yet so grown up! Look at her in all her cute new-blogger-ness. Click Here. She is an awesome writer.

Alissa is the cutest, sweetest girl you will ever meet. I have known her for almost 5 years, and she has been there through some of the worst and best times of my life. She is also one of the funnest (most fun?) people to hang out with. You can laugh with her, cry with her, play N64 with her, eat endless amounts of ice cream and cake with her...

She is so kind, half the time I don't know how she puts up with my perfectionist, Type A self. She is very understanding and always knows just what to say. She used to be pretty quiet and shy, but being a nurse and being my friend has kind of ruined that. :P She is honest, Godly, and puh-lease people, she is GORGEOUS! She inspires me to become a better person. I love you, Alissa!

Life is good with good friends. I am so blessed.

3 Things I learned over the weekend Tuesday, February 05, 2008 |

1. Putting on lip gloss while speedily walking to class is hazardous to your health.
2. Applying blush 5 seconds after you put on face cream ends up looking very bad.
3. P.S. I love you is the best movie I have seen in ages. I cried, a lot.
